The Welcome Back Pow Wow at Winnebago Public Schools scheduled for Thursday, August 8th has been rescheduled. The Pow Wow will be on Friday, August 30th from 1:00-3:00pm.

Here are the school supply lists for K-4th Grade for the 2024-2025 school year. There are programs donating school supplies this year, but you are more than welcome to get your student(s) their own supplies as well.

Any student 7-8th grade interested in cross county is encouraged to join the high school tomorrow morning 8am to get ready for the season as they kick off the season when the HS does.

Huge WPS CHASH ONLY uniform garage!!! WPS will be holding a CASH ONLY garage sale on Aug 8th during the open house from 3pm-6pm of old uniforms -football, volleyball, basketball, warmups and t-shirts. Vintage warmups, jerseys, t-shirts and shorts along with newer uniforms will all be $10 each *This will be cash only no exceptions*. All proceeds will go to the WPS Athletics programs.

WPS Back to School Open House!! On August 8th WPS would like to invite parents, guardians, and students to meet your teacher and WPS staff on from 3pm-6pm. Also, All incoming kindergartners need to turn in their enrollment packet and a copy of their immunizations, vision, and physical before they can start school. Packets were mailed out but you can get another copy in the district office.

WPS would like to welcome Jay Martin from the Nebraska Schools Safety Dept. on Aug 20th to present parents and community members a program on Digital Culture. Digital wisdom is needed for students and parents to improve behavioral, mental, and emotional well-being. Together we can improve the digital culture and climate in our school and community. Please join us on August 20th from 5pm-6pm in the WPS theater for this community presentation.

Fall sports conditioning starts Monday Aug 5th. Times will change as the week goes on so please talk with your student athletes as coaches will update them as the week goes on. XC conditioning- 8:00 AM. It would be in the best interest of all runners to show up to get acclimated to the heat. FB conditioning- 4pm VB conditioning- 10am

WPS wanted send out a reminder of the new cell phone policy that will be in place for the 24-25 school year. Device Violations. Cell Phones/Electronic Devices Winnebago Public Schools moved to ban all portable wireless device use for students at WPS for the 2024-2025 school year. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of cell phones, I-watches and personal laptops and tablets. The ban is in effect for all students from the time students arrive until the end of the school day. The policy is not in effect during practices and after school activities. Coaches and sponsors will use their own discretion for their sport/activity. This policy will be in effect for all areas of the building, at all times, during the school day and will be strictly enforced by all employees of the school district. To deter the use of these electronic devices, strict consequences have been put into place. They are as follows: 1st Offense: 3 days in-school suspension. 2nd Offense: 5 days out-of-school suspension 3rd Offense: 10 days out-of-school suspension. This policy has been implemented to help to keep all students safe and keep them engaged in the learning that will directly impact their future.

WPS wanted to send out a reminder of the updated Drug/Vape policy and consequences which has been approved for the 24-25 school year Drugs/Vapes WPS has revised consequences for vaping on school grounds or during school activities. All vaping by school-age students is illegal under Tribal, State and Federal law. Illegal and extremely dangerous drugs, such as fentanyl and methamphetamine, are sometimes found in vapes. In order to protect our students, WPS has instituted the following consequences: 1st Offense: 10 days out-of-school suspension. 2nd Offense: Consideration for expulsion. At Winnebago Public School, our primary functions are to keep our kids safe and educate them to be successful members of our community and society. These actions will help to keep all students safe and keep them engaged in the learning that will directly impact their future.
