Haylie Lovejoy
My parents are Cassandra Harlan and Logan Lovejoy, Jr.
Favorite Class(es)/Why: English with Dr. Brasch and Mrs. Pick; they're both very uplifting teachers, and I just really enjoy their classes.
Favorite Teacher(s)/Why: Mrs. Pick, because she is always so positive and is very helpful when it comes to anything.
Most influential adult/Why: My mother because she makes the impossible possible, and for that I admire her the most.
Future Plans: Attend College and major in Political Science.
Words of Wisdom to Underclassmen: Stay on top of your work and enjoy every bit of high school because it truly does go by so quickly!

Kylena Jallece Walker
Parents/guardians: Brandy Free and Kenneth Walker Sr.
My Favorite Memory of High School: My favorite memory of high school would have to be basketball season. Traveling to away games was my favorite; the girls made it very memorable.
Favorite Class(es)/Why: My favorite class was Reconnecting Youth with Mrs. Benne. I liked what the class was about, and Benne made it pretty fun.
Favorite Teacher(s)/Why: My favorite teacher would have to be Mrs. Benne. I think of her as my school mom. She's someone I can always go to when I have questions or need help, whether it’s with schoolwork or life in general. I’ll always be grateful for the bond we’ve built.
Most Influential adult/Why: My mom and dad are definitely the most influential adults in my life. They've always been there for me with unconditional love and support, no matter what. I wouldn't be who I am today without them. They've taught me to believe in myself, to work hard, and to never settle for less than my best. I’m so grateful for everything they’ve done and continue to do for me.
Future Plans: I’m not sure yet
Words of Wisdom to Underclassmen: Go to school and get your work done. Your grades and attendance really do matter.

Wallace Earth
Parents/guardians:
Grace Snowball and Wallace Earth Sr.
Favorite Memory of High School:
My favorite memory of high school was all the unforgettable concerts I was fortunate and blessed to attend outside of school. I got to see SNOT, Trippie Redd, Doja Cat & Ice Spice, Wallows, Olivia Rodrigo, Chappell Roan, and Taylor Swift. It wasn’t necessarily the performers that made these moments special, but the experience I got to share with my sisters, Angel and Rebecca Earth. These moments brought us closer together, and they’ve become monumental memories we’ll carry with us as we grow older.
Favorite Class(es)/Why:
My favorite classes were British Literature at HHS with Stacy Delperdang, Art at HHS with Casey Treymane, and the Native American Studies courses I took at LPTC with Alexandrea Walker.
In British Literature, I got to regain my love for reading and relearn how to study. We explored the greats like Shakespeare, Orwell, Brontë, and more. Mrs. Delperdang was also just an amazing teacher. She brought life to the stories, was funny, and intelligent, and was probably one of the coolest teachers I’ve had. It was an amazing class, and I would take it a million times over.
Art with Casey Treymane was unlike any other. She supported us not only in our artwork but also in our personal and academic lives. She gave thoughtful advice, encouraged us when we were stuck, and motivated us to create something meaningful. She was well-rounded, wise, understanding, classy, and a true inspiration. She and her art class are one of the main reasons I’m where I am today, and it continues to fuel my academic journey. I am beyond grateful to have taken those classes with her as my teacher!
Little Priest Tribal College offers a wide variety of classes, but the Native American Studies courses I took with Alexandrea Walker were by far my favorite. I learned about different tribes across the globe, tribal history during key periods, the Marshall Trilogy, language revitalization, Native art, and the lasting impact of colonization on Indian Country today. These classes radicalized me and deepened my understanding of our community. Having Alexandrea as a teacher made the experience even better. She’s a WPS alum and a tribal member who is kind, driven, knowledgeable, and inspiring. If you live on or near the res, I highly recommend taking one of her classes.
Favorite Teacher(s)/Why:
I don’t really believe in having “favorite” teachers, but two who left a lasting impact and haven’t been mentioned yet are Jeff Horner and Lorena Fernandez.
Mr. Horner was the guidance counselor at HHS, but it would be absurd if I didn’t mention him. He helped me enroll in the different community colleges I had the privilege to attend, apply for scholarships, guide me on what classes I should take, answer any questions I had for him, help me with the ACT stuff, and write me letters of recommendation. Anytime I came to him with any concerns he was there to answer my questions and would leave me feeling uplifted and ready to conquer anything! He was kind, well-spoken, thoughtful, there for you when you needed him, and an essential asset to my academic ambitions. I can’t stress how appreciative I was to have him there to guide me.
Mrs. Fernandez was my teacher for five inconsistent years at WPS. I first had her in 7th grade, and right from the bat, she was an amazing teacher. She was always there for her students, introduced us to new snacks (i.e., Duvalin, Canels pastillas, Pelon Pelo Rico, Vero Mango, Rosca de Reyes), taught us core subjects, and was there for me when I needed her. She’s a very underrated, sweet, and intelligent teacher. I was truly blessed to have her during my early years.
Most influential adult/Why:
The most influential adults in my life are my parents. I’m incredibly blessed to be able to say that, and I don’t take it for granted.
My parents are my best friends, heroes, leaders, motivation, and support system. They both are very idealistic, hardworking, and traditional individuals. Without them, I (literally) would not be here today but also, academically I would not have achieved what I have without them. They advocate for me, motivate me, encourage me to strive for more, and stand by me through everything. I love them very much and am so appreciative to have them.
Future Plans:
After graduating, I plan to attend the University of Nebraska Omaha and major in Architectural Engineering. After I am academically accomplished, I plan to come back to the res to give back and help serve the community.
Words of Wisdom to Underclassmen:
Never give up. Go to school. Get your degree. Embrace your culture. Take the hard classes. Abstain from drugs and alcohol. Be kind.

Ariayla Krystel Suniga
Parents/guardians: Lisa Bass and Mario Suniga
Favorite Memory of High School: I love every memory I have of High School. It's a big part of who I am and where I am now.
Favorite Class(es)/Why: Music Production, Culinary, Brasch's classes, and Art.
Favorite Teacher(s)/Why:
Dr.. Brasch because she is kind, caring, and overall a great person in general. Being in the performing arts with her and all of my friends, we became a family, and it helped me grow closer to everyone and to figure myself out.
Mrs. Eberly is the same thing as Dr. Brasch. She is also a great person and an amazing teacher.
Mr. Garthoff, because he keeps it real, jokes around, and is an outstanding band teacher who has to put up with all of the naughty middle schoolers that he teaches. He is one teacher who doesn't get enough credit for what he does.
The list could go on. I love all of my highschool teachers, they're all the best. They helped me better myself and to grow as a person. Teachers don't get enough credit as they should. They work hard for the bare minimum.
Most influential adult/Why: Dr. Brasch because she always pushed me to do my best even when I didn't want to. She pushed me out of my comfort zone and was always there when I needed help, support, or just someone to talk to. She'll always be my favorite teacher and the most memorable one.
Future Plans: After I graduate, I plan on going to college at Morningside to get my degree in Psychology-counseling. I want to keep working and to keep helping those around me.
Words of Wisdom to Underclassmen: Be nice to your teachers; they don't get paid enough to deal with all of your naughtiness. School is only as hard as you make it; you have no one else to blame but yourself, so hold yourself accountable.
